*.* Values of St Joseph's Convent *.*
Here are our school values which we must uphold and learn in the school.... By doing this, we will become women of integrity when we leave the school... =)
*.* Freedom *.*
You may think that it means to be free to do ANYTHING u want, especially doing the wrong things... But actually what it really means is that we will have group interest over self-interest, have the right to ask others to maintain our school values and image, understand that while we have the freedom of speech, we will not use it to hurt others and also, will not destroy public property as others have the freedom to use it.
Unlike a bird in the sky,
i'm restricted to the world.
ever longing for freedom,
fobidden to excel.
living in darkness,
i long to be free.
i search for the light
oh lord, help me from this plight.
Unlike a bird in a cage,
i'm released to the world.
unlike a lion in the zoo,
i'm roaming in the wild.
like an angel in the sky,
i am pure and holy.
like a dove in god's presence,
i'm free to the world.
*.* Justice? What's that? *.*
Well.... the word 'Justice' means that we must have moral courage to speak up when we see something wrong, will be impartial even at times when the odds are against me, will treat everyone fairly regardless of status, race or religion and finally, will not do something that will benefit myself but hurt others...
Here are some pictures that describe justice....
*.* True meaning of Truth *.*
It is to speak the truth even when it hurts. Not to ever cheat, copy or tell tales by adding chilli and tomato ketchap into the real situation. Most importantly, it is to have the humility to admit our mistakes when in wrong.
There were two boys taking a math exam.
one was John, the other was Mark.
Mark did not study for the exam,
so being good friends with John,
who was sitting next to him, he decided to pass a paper to him asking the answer for one of the questions when the teacher was not looking.
John took the paper and wrote something on it.
as Mark took the paper back, he read these words,
"Honesty is the answer, don't depend on me, but solely on yourself, speak the truth, and for goodness sake! Start revising! It's never too late."
*.* What is Integrity *.*
Integrity is to be honest and responsible for our actions. To do what is right even when no one is looking , not to steal or take things that is not ours and...... To attend school punctually and regularly.
*.* How to be gracious and have a healthy lifestyle *.*
*Speak eloquently and politely
*Have a positive attitude towards life
*Treat peers, teachers and school leaders with
respect and consideration.
*Eat balanced meal
*Develop healthy coping skills
*.* Maximizing our potential *.*
To maximize our potential, we have to set high goals and work hard to achieve them by motivating ourselves and make maximum use of our abilities. We must make a life-long learning habit and give our best in both academic and co-curricular activities.
Believe in yourself
No matter what you choose.
Keep a winning attitude
And you can never lose.
Think about your destination
But don't worry if you stray
Because the important thing
Is what you've learned the way.
Take all that you've become
To be all that you can be.
Soar above the clouds
And let your dreams set you free.
*.* Being God-Fearing *.*
Being God-fearing, we must love and respect God and not use his name in vain. We must also respect the authority of our parents, teachers and school leaders. We have to believe that God will help those who help themselves and...... To uphold our school values(written at the first post)and rules.
*.* LOVE *.*
Love is to love and cherish yourself and your family. Love is to be a faithful and trustworthy person. Love is to show care and concern towards other people. Last but not least, it is to be compassionate and sensitive towards the feeling of others! *Awe... so sweet..*
Love can be a splendid thing,
a miserable mess.
why dwell on the past,
when you know it swells,
love can be a wonderful thing.
love is in the air,
oh how lovely it is,
why be apart,
when you can be a part.
